5 Things: Music, Art, Theater and Fashion on Tap This Weekend

We've got what's going on in Sandy Springs and nearby, this weekend.

 

 

  • Community Assistance Center Fashion Show and Sale. The event features new designer sample clothing and accessories at bargain prices. Also shop consignment quality designer fashions, Jafra cosmetics and Stella & Dot jewelry. Proceeds support CAC. Fashion show and pre-sale: 5-9 p.m., Friday. $15, includes appetizers and wine.  Sale: 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday. Huntcliff Club by the River on River Run.
  • Play: "By Wheel and By Wing."  Act 3 presents a musical set in 1941 and based on the Parnes family's escape from Europe during World War II. 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. 3 p.m. Sunday.
  • Stand-up Comedy. Christian Finnegan and Mike Speenburg perform at The Punchline. Vist the website for showtimes.
  • Violinist Ken Ford. Villa Christina is hosting an event in its free summer jazz series at 5:30 p.m. Sunday. This performance will be a treat. Ken Ford is always a great show. Seating begins at 4 p.m.
  • Art show. The Spruill Gallery is continuing its Emerging Artists Exhibit this weekend. The gallery will showcase emerging local artists in printmaking, sculpture and other mediums.

If you haven't ever seen Ken Ford perform, it will be a delightful treat. If you have seen him before then you already know to expect a nice show.
