Blame This Time Change Thing on the Railroads
Darker mornings in Sandy Springs for a while. Daylight Savings Time ends. Apparently railroads were the culprits that made us start to count the minutes.
We're consumed by time. How did that happen? Well, the railroads had something to do with it. In a March 2011 New York Times Op-Ed, “Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is, Howard Mansfield explains how clocks were only a necessary means for our need to not be idle. And the railroad is the culprit that really made us start to count the minutes. It's a fun read.

Daylight Savings Time ends at 2 a.m., Sunday. Remember to turn your clocks back an hour.
Arizona, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, U.S. Virgin Islands and American Samoa do not observe Daylight Savings Time.
If Standard Time tortures you, it's short-lived. Daylight Savings Time begins again on Sunday, March 10, 2013.

Please. It's not Daylight Savings Time - it's Daylight Saving Time. Why can't the media get this right? Properly, it should be Daylight-saving Time, daylight-saving becoming an adjectival phrase modifying "time."
