A message from the Community Assistance Center
The Community Assitance Center Food Pantry is in critical need of food donations to continue to provide food to local families and indiviuals in need.
A decline in donations during the summer months combined with an increase in demand for food has resulted in empty shelves. Staff says lines at the Center are getting longer every day.
The CAC Food Pantry receives 1,000 visits a month from neighbors struggling to make ends meet.
Bring donations to CAC at 1130 Hightower Trail, 9 a,.m. to 4 p.m., Mondays through Fridays; or call to arrange a delivery time, 770-552-4889.
Most needed item are canned vegetables including green beans, peas, mixed, potatoes; peanut butter, jelly, rice, tomato sauce, baked beans, cereal, toothpaste, paper towels.
