Historian Brings Sandy Springs' Civil War Years to Life
Through diaries, maps and forgotten letters, learn more from the first-hand accounts of the people that lived through the Civil War during a Wednesday lecture.
From Heritage Sandy Springs
On Wednesday, Historian Clarke Otten will present a multi-media program on the Sandy Springs community during the Civil War. The lecture is part of the "Sandy Springs Crossroads of History" series and combines graphics, film footage and historic photographs that will bring this important chapter in our city's history to life.
Until recently, few people realized the pivotal role Sandy Springs played in the outcome of the Civil War. Through diaries, maps and forgotten letters, learn more about those turbulent days from the first-hand accounts of the people that lived through them.
The free event will be held at 7 p.m. in Heritage Hall at Heritage Sandy Springs, 6110 Bluestone Road.
The event is presented in partnership with Sandy Springs Historic Preservation Society
