Well, I have been a part of the cast for a few weeks now and I am starting to get the feel of live theater. This Act3 bunch runs things like a well-oiled machine! Everyone has a specific job, making the dautning task of learning LOTS of music and choreography easier for us actors. The schedule allows for me to study the character of Bruiser and his relationship with Elle throughout her journey.
I have noticed that there is one team member that is often forgotten or taken for granted--the Stage Manager. For me, though, I could not perform without the special attention I have received from one of the Act3 Stage Managers, Dawn Zachariah. She is like a ninja! She is silently and supportively EVERYWHERE at once! She writes down our blocking, videos our choreography, reminds us who is in what number, manages the conflict schedule and, most importantly, hold and pets me when my mom teaches dance! And, let me tell you, this keeps me from being jostled to death while mom hops around like crazy!
I have formed a special friendship and bond with this fine lady. We have even discussed arranging a visit with her canine companion, Watson. I have seen photos and will only consider this liaison after my next grooming--that Watson is far too handsome for me to show up scruffy!
I hope this story helps everyone understand just how wonderful the cast and crew of Legally Blonde is. They are always willing to go above and beyond the expected. Sure, I'm cute and fluffy, but dog-handling is clearly not in Dawn's job description! As I mentioned in my first blog, Act3 is just a special place full of special folks, which makes for one happy pup!
