National Fossil Day
156 Heaton Park Dr NE, Atlanta, GA | Get Directions »
FREE
Come face to face with a Triceratops when Fernbank Science Center celebrates National Fossil Day. A variety of fossils and casts will be on display, and knowledgeable staff will be on hand to answer questions. Activities for kids will include a fossil shark tooth dig and a paint-your-own fossil station. Visitors will also see an exhibit of Georgia fossils supplied by the Georgia College Natural History Museum.
The star attraction at this year’s Fossil Day will be Triceratops fossils excavated by Decatur fossil hunter Henry Frantz on a dig in Wyoming. Mr. Frantz will be on hand to talk about his fossil-hunting hobby, and answer questions about his finds.
