Dress for the weather - wearing comfortable hiking shoes and layering your clothes - for this hike through the winter forest along Indian Ridge Trail, cutting across to Charlie's Trapping Creek, and then up the Salamander Creek Trail to the grand view of Devil's Race Course Shoals from atop Overlook Ridge. The hike will return to the start by way of Cabin Creek Trail and the group will visit the largest naturally occurring rock shelter in the park.

Bring a day pack with a lunch and bottle of water for a picnic in the forest. Binoculars, hand lens, notebook, and camera are optional.
