The “Are You an Ally” anti-bullying nationwide tour made a stop at Riverwood on Nov. 22.

The assembly was the highlight of the Raider's inaugural Bullying Awareness Week.

Cali Linstrom, a 17-year-old high school senior and the leader of the “Are You an Ally” campaign, shared her story of being a bullying victim.

Former Atlanta Hawks player and NBA All-Star Theo Ratliff joined Cali to speak about his experiences of being bullied as a youngster for being taller than his classmates.

The assembly wrapped up a full week of activities led by the Counseling Center. During awareness week, raily announcements provided more information about what bullying entails and why students should help create a Bully-Free school. Posters appeared throughout the school promoting Zero Tolerance for Bullying. In early November, all Freshmen and 20 percent of Sophomores-Seniors completed an anonymous Bullying Survey to assess their perception of bullying; teachers also completed an online Bullying Assessment.

The Counseling Center will compile the results and summarize their findings early next semester.
