Blake Barber, a senior at Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School, has been named a DAR Good Citizen by the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Fort Peachtree Chapter.

Blake, the son of Lisa Romine and Jay Barber, was recognized for exemplifying the qualities of a good citizen: “dependability, service, leadership and patriotism in their homes, schools and communities,” said a DAR release.

His name will now be entered into the DAR Good Citizens Scholarship Contest. The national winner receives a $5,000 scholarship, an inscribed silver bowl, and an invitation to the DAR Continental Congress in Washington, D.C.

Barber hopes to attend the United States Naval Academy.
