Five Things to do This Father's Day Weekend

Music, fun and a run!

  • Gardening by the Springs at Heritage Sandy Springs. The North Fulton Master Gardeners answer questions and provide fun and informative gardening advice. The session features Gold Medal Plants and explains why these plants make a good choice for the home garden. 10 a.m., Saturday.
  • Kick back and relax, Saturday. Chow down on some finger-licking barbecue, drink some cold Sweetwater brews, play a little corn hole or go fishing and jam to the Yacht Rock as Uno Dos Tres Catorce at 7 p.m. followed by the REMakes at 9:30 p.m. Look for cool auction items and schwag from Sweetwater Brewery and High Country Outfitters in support of the Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeepers. Festivities start at 3 p.m. Text “sweetwater” to 90210 to receive $5 off $12 admission.
  • Jazz in the garden at Villa Christina. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs for this outdoor treat on Sunday. Vocalist Chandra Currelley is backed by – Anthony “TC” Cunningham on bass, Marcus Williums on Drums and Derek Scott on guitar.  Doors open at 4 p.m.  Music starts at 5:30 p.m. [ends at 8 p.m.]
  • Dash4Dad. Join Men's Health and Wellness and ZERO - The Project to End Prostate Cancer for the Dash4Dad. This is the second annual 5K Run/1 Mile Walk to defeat prostate cancer. Pre-registered participants will receive a premium cotton commemorative t-shirt, and an assortment of goods and coupons. Race Day registration and packet pick-up will take place at the starting area beginning at 6:30am. (Cash and checks only.) 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., Saturday, at the Home Depot, 6400 Peachtree Dunwoody Road, N. E.
