Five Things To Do This Weekend: 5K, Comedy, Tossed Out Treasures Sale

Sandy Springs happenings.

. The Sandy Springs Society has sponsored the sale since 1992. This will be the 20th year for the event. Shop for upscale treasures including gently-used designer clothing and accessories, jewelry, antiques, home furnishings, books, garden supplies and more.  Through 7 p.m., Friday; 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Friday.  7200 Roswell Road.

Learn to grow a garden. Go learn some vegetable gardening basics from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Heritage Sandy Springs Museum. Go learn tips about planting and growing a summer vegetable garden. The class is presented by local master gardeners and the UGA Cooperative Extension.

Comedy. Stand-up comedian Jon Reep performs at The Punchline on Friday and Saturday. Reep won the 2007 “Last Comic Standing” competition. $25. Visit the website for showtimes.

Andee’s Army 5K Fun Run/Walk. The inaugural 5K run/walk benefits Andee's Army, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds to provide goods and services to children and their families who are receiving medical treatment and care for non-traumatic brain injuries. The race begins and ends at with a warm-up at 7:30 a.m. Race start time is 8 a.m.

Passover Day at the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon Sunday. Families with younger children are invited to join in Passover songs, crafts stories and other fun. The event is open to the whole community.
