Free, Cheap Family Activities in North Fulton

Cutting back does not have to be painful. Your family can enjoy activities together or dads can sneak the kids out to make gifts for moms just in time for Mothers Day. Kids can even help decorate the house with some fun projects. Whatever you decide to do this week, be sure to check for deals and coupons. There is no reason to spend more than you need to.

• Film screening at in Sandy Springs
  

Enjoy a screening of "World's Smallest Airport" while benefiting the Atlanta Community Food Bank. Admission is free but donations are welcome. There will be a reception at 6 and the movie starts at 6:30, Thursday. Free.

For five years the brothers performed astonishing acts doing unlikely things with unlikely aircraft, feats that have never been exceeded to this day. This is their story.

• Movies Under the Stars
  

Experience the acclaimed movie "October Sky," based on the book "Rocket Boys," by Homer H. Hickam, Jr., on a huge, outdoor screen. This event is part of the first annual Sandy Springs Reads community reading event. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. • Mother's Day Craft Clay Project 

Deal: Kids can make a clay project with the help of at the toy store in Alpharetta on Saturday from 3:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. The cost is $12 per child. 

Good Through: This is a one-day event and interested families need to pre-register before the date of the event. Information regarding registration can be found here. 

• Build A Terrarium

Deal: Kids can build their very own terrarium for themselves or to give mom on her special day. Register for the free event at Lowes here. Then bring the kids to the store in ,  or on Saturday at 10 a.m. Be sure to register because stores only have a certain amount of crafts that they can give out and once registrations are full at a certain store, they are gone.

• Steampunk Saturday at Barrington Hall

Deal: This family friendly event is free and will be fun for everyone. The event is described as a multimedia event with one foot in the past and one foot in the future with music, theater, science and so much fun. The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday at from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and it is free to the public. For more information, see the city of Roswell's website.

• Free Bowling 

Deal: Sign the kids up at this website and they can bowl all summer long for free. Each day that they go to, they will get 2 free games. Children must be registered for the promotion so be sure to do this now, rather than later in case the promotion gets pulled. Adults who want to bowl with the kids all summer can buy a summer pass for around $25.

• Paint A Picture

Deal:  has special days that they offer home school classes. These painting classes are half price so customers only pay $12 instead of $25. For dates and to see what is offered of these specially priced days, see their calendar.

• Ladies Night Celebrates Women

Deal: in Roswell celebrates women this April with a ladies night.
