Tuesday was a big day for Georgia's Girl Scouts, with the international organization honored by Gov. Nathan Deal and the Legislature as it kicked off the countdown to its 100th anniversary in 2012.

For more than 41,000 girls in 34 Greater Atlanta counties, however, the day held another special significance. It's time to get ready for the annual tradition of cookie booth sales at hundreds of locations, including shopping centers and offices.

While the "official" booth sales begin Friday, the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta unveiled Tuesday a Cookie Coach to spread the word about the sales.

Sandy Springs cookie fans can search for locations by zip code here and find out days, hours and which troop is holding sales.

A few locations include Walgreens at 6425 Roswell Road from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, and from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday; Bean Head Toys at 220 Johnson Ferry Road, N.E. from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Saturday; and cookie lovers can find troops at Kroger at Fountain Oaks shopping center next week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Since Monday is a holiday they will be there from noon -7 p.m.
