  • GLOBAL BMW SANDY SPRINGS CYCLING CHALLENGE

When/Where: 8:30 a.m. Sunday at the , 7840 Roswell Rd

Why go: Join us for a full day of family fun at the 3rd Annual Global BMW Sandy Springs Cycling Challenge. After the ride, please enjoy the Track Side Dining, with a variety of Sandy Springs eateries as well as a first class Art Show and a Concert at the finale. Riders will receive a T-Shirt for participating. All proceeds will go to support our POLICE and FIRE departments in Sandy Springs.

How much: $30. Register online.

  • KID’S BUILDING WORKSHOP

When/Where: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday at the Home Depot, 6400 Peachtree-Dunwody Rd.

Why go: Kids will be building a tulip planter. In addition to the newly constructed project kit, each child receives a kid-sized orange apron, similar to The Home Depot associates' aprons, and an achievement pin. Designed for ages 5-12.

  • RELAY FOR LIFE

When/Where: Through Saturday morning at Hammond Park, 705 Hammond Dr N.E.

Why go: The is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. At Relay, teams of people camp out at and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Because cancer never sleeps, Relays are overnight events up to 24 hours in length.

How much: $10 registration fee, donations welcome.

  • COOKING WORKSHOP FOR MOM & KIDS

When/Where: Noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Young Chefs Academy,

Why go: Enjoy cooking together and prepare a brunch menu of garden quiche, fruit salad and cherry danish.

How much: $45 for 2, $10 for each additional person. Reservations required.

  • GARAGE SALE

When/Where: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at , 5395 Roswell Rd NE

Why go: All proceeds from this will benefit Sandy Springs Education Force and Community Action Center. Shop for a bargain and support these organizations and the children and adults they serve.

How much: Free admission.

  • ART MARKET

When/Where: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the , 6500 Vernon Woods Dr NE, Atlanta, GA 30328

Why go: As a part of ArtSSpring, an annual 30-day celebration of the Arts in Sandy Springs, art from local artists will be on sale at the Dorothy C. Benson Center.
