Local Churches Plan Ash Wednesday Services

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Lenten season. Here is a list of services planned at area churches.

The Lenten season is the 40 days before Easter (excluding Sundays, the day of rest). For those who observe the Christian practice of Lenten sacrifice, the next six weeks will be used as a spiritual exercise to prepare for the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Roswell Patch brings you a list of area churches offering services on this Ash Wednesday.

St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church at 11330 Woodstock Road will hold Ash Wednesday services at Noon, 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Roswell Presbyterian Church at 755 Mimosa Boulevard will hold Ash Wednesday services, with communion by intinction and imposition of ashes, at 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. in the church sanctuary.

Christ United Methodist Church at 1340 Woodstock Road will hold Ash Wednesday services at 7 p.m.

Cross of Life Lutheran Church at 1000 Hembree Road will hold Ash Wednesday services at Noon and 7 p.m.

Northminister Presbyterian Church at 2400 Old Alabama Road will hold Ash Wednesday services in the sanctuary at 7 p.m.

Northbrook United Methodist Church 11225 Crabapple Road will hold Ash Wednesday services at 6:30 p.m.

Roswell Community Church at 700 Grimes Bridge Road will hold Ash Wednesday services at 7 p.m.
