A standing-room crowd of Mountaire Springs neighborhood homeowners and nearby residents turned out for an informational meeting on the fast-paced redevelopment in the area, Monday, at Sandy Springs Christian Church.

Two professionals in home renovations and real estate said a big reason the neighborhood has suddenly become so popular for homebuilders is the school district. Riverwood International Charter School and Heards Ferry are a big draw.

 Demand is so high, realtor Brett Friedmann told the crowd that there's not enough supply to meet the demand of interested home buyers.

Marc Lefkovits, lives in the area and signs for his custom home renovation company, Lefko Group, are outside homes under development. He said the area is very attractive for prospective buyers who can’t pay $500,000 for a home. In addition the neighborhood is close to the planned downtown city center area.
