Sandy Springs Farmers Market Starts Next Month

The farmers market's 2014 season will start at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, April 12.

The construction of the city center won't stop organizers of the Sandy Springs Farmers Market to give the people their share of fresh, locally grown produce.

The Heritage Sandy Springs Farmers Market will debut its 2014 season on Saturday, April 12 at the at the lower level of the Parkside Shopping Center on Sandy Springs Circle. The site sits across the street from Lake Forest Elementary School.

The market this year will run between 8:30 a.m. to noon each Saturday through November. Each week, the market will have live music and about 50 vendors selling fresh, local produce, pasture-raised meat products, eggs and dairy products and a variety of prepared food.

The market this year will be organized and managed by Heritage Sandy Springs. Since the 2010 season, the market had been located in the former parking lot of the old Target store, on Sandy Springs Circle.

However, the city started demolishing the old Target facility as part of the development of its City Center
