Police: Watchful Neighbors Can Help Solve Series of Burglaries

About 11 burglaries have occurred in the last two weeks, in the River Shore Parkway and River Valley Road area of Sandy Springs.

Sandy Springs Police say neighbors’ help will likely lead to the arrest of burglars hitting the River Shore Parkway, River Valley Road area.

“We’re looking for people to be diligent in noticing strangers walking around their neighborhood, in between houses or sitting in an idling car,” said Police Capt. Steve Rose.

About 11 burglaries have occurred in the last two weeks, Rose said. Usually, the bandits knock on the front door and when no one answers they walk around to the back of the house to break-in, grabbing electronics and stuffing them into a pillowcase.

Police want to catch the burglars before they move on to another part of the metro area. “[Residents’] 911 calls is what get them arrested,” Rose said.
