Temple Sinai and UPS Partner to Bring 5,850 lbs of Food to CAC Pantry

The donation to the Community Assistance Center food pantry will provide for 266 families in Sandy Springs and Dunwoody.

 

Temple Sinai and UPS came together in September to fight hunger in Sandy Springs and Dunwoody communities. The large food drive by Temple Sinai is an annual event, centering around the Jewish holiday, Yom Kippur.

This was one of their largest drives yet, giving a total of 585 bags, at an average of 10 lbs per bag, that is 5,850 lbs. of food.

The donation to the CAC Food Pantry will provide 266 local families with two to three bags of non-perishable foods this month, an announcement said.

UPS provided a truck, driver and volunteers for a total of 18 people, to load, unload and shelve two trips of food donations from two holiday services at the temple that day.
