Act Up! Theater Summer Camp (ages 5-12)

Session 1: 7/30-8/3/2012, The Dancing Princesses

Session 2: 8/6-8/10/2012, Beauty and the Beast

Camp activities include a talent show, painting sets and a dress rehearsal with a performance on Friday!  The camp is designed for the beginning actor to experience the thrill of being on stage, being challenged with memorizing lines, remembering when to move and where to go.  Participants will learn to be part of a theater team, to learn basic fundamentals of theater and acting, and learn the basics about sets, costumes, makeup, and stage directions.  The final stage is a production of their play for family and friends on the final day of the class. 

Campers will be divided age appropriately and according to the needs of each group.  Participants bring their own lunch (except on Friday when a pizza party will be provided), snacks and drinks each day, and a costume for the performance - something in their closet – so there is no need to buy one.  

MEETING TIME/DAY:

Monday-Thursday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. AND Friday* 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. (*5:00 Friday performance for family and friends)
