In honor of the founding of the city of Sandy Springs, AFFPS will hold an inaugural two day outdoor fair to celebrate on the site of the proposed new City Center.  Imagine the transformation of the former Target property and adjacent Johnson Ferry Road turned into a site filled with art, craft and carnival attractions for children.  This event has the potential to bring together art lovers, families, neighbors and visitors to discover just what Sandy Springs has to offer. Visitors will enjoy a summer weekend stroll through the Artist Market on July 7-8, 2012.  There is plenty to see and do with 150 artists and artisans lining the festival route, plus a children’s area, gourmet foods and local acoustic music.  The event is easy to find from Roswell Road and I-285.  There is plenty of parking, and is free to attend.

Is it too late for an artist to qualify for a space at this function. What are the requirements and costs?

Went today. Not a huge selection of artists, but a few that were very good, including a ceramic artist. Lots of commercial kiosks (you can get a $10 gift card from Costco for signing up for a membership, but they only take cash, checks and American Express). Fantastic food trucks, including Yumbi and Happy Belly. Looked like a couple of fun rides for kids. Very hot -- bring water.

I Went today also and its was an AMAZING SELECTION OF ARTISTS - over 125 - I can see why people were gunning for it - this show was simply AMAZING! - the artist were some of the best I have ever seen - it was right off the pages of getting ti right. this tradition is going to be a "show stopper" for sure. It was so well put together and laid out - it was easy to walk the children's area was perfect for my kids - not to big and plenty of fun things to do - the food was amazing all healthy alternatives and none of the terrible "fair food" that you find at "other places" - I just can't say enough wonderful things about the event - the way it was put together - the parking - they even had a old time trolley service for the customers - free water for the artists - they had a pet adoption - they simply hands down - GOT IT RIGHT! - This simply is the BEST NEW SHOW OF 2012 - to hit the streets of Sandy Springs in as many years. WAY TO GO - we are going back tomorrow - to buy a couple of things - there were just so many artist to choose from. LOVED IT!!!!
