Sandy Springs Reads Event: Big Thinkers Rocket Launch

Sandy Springs Reads, Sandy Springs’ first annual “One Book, One City” series of events, aims to promote literacy while building a sense of community.  Sandy Springs Reads events will engage community members in discussions and activities around a common book. 

The 2012 selection is Homer Hickam's autobiographical work, Rocket Boys.

This event will feature Big Thinkers discussing the past, present and future of space travel. Children, ages 7-12 years old, will learn about propulsion, parts of the rocket, launch safety and how space travel has affected our life on Earth.

The workshop will conclude with an actual rocket launch!
