Exhibit Features Art by Farmer Who Developed His Wood-Carving Craft Late in Life

The exhibit by late Sandy Springs resident Moses Young Robinson is presented by Heritage Sandy Springs, in February.

 

In February, Heritage Sandy Springs will present an exhibit by former Sandy Springs resident Moses Young Robinson.

Robinson died in 1942. When illness caused him to stop farming at age 60, Robingson turned to whittling wood. The self-taught artist created thousands of pieces before his death.  Some figures reflected people of Sandy Springs at the time.

He gave many pieces away but several hundred will be featured in a February exhibit at Heritage Sandy Springs Museum.
