Psathas said he was inspired by a Hilton Head restaurant that feeds the hungry every Thanksgiving. When he opened B’s Bistro earlier this year, he told Debra that he wanted to do the same.

“My wife thought I might be biting off more than I could chew in the first year. I thought it would be great to start a new tradition,” Psathas said.

In spite of Debra’s initial reservations on pulling it off successfully, things started to fall into place, she said.

“It’s amazing what has happened in the last two weeks,” she said. The business received an unexpected credit for an overpayment and then donations started coming in to pay for the meals.

“We want to be community oriented and fundraise,” Buz Psathas said.

Dinner will be served from noon to 3 p.m.

The menu includes:

Roasted turkey breast with gravy, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole with roasted marshmallows, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, and coffee and tea.
