Chick-fil-A CEO Cancels Chamber Breakfast, Replaced by Falcons Exec

Nearby Sandy Springs: The North Fulton Chamber says a scheduling conflict caused the switch in speakers for its Eggs & Enterprise Breakfast on Aug. 28.

 

North Fulton Chamber President Brandon Beach had to call an audible when Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy cancelled his speaking engagement at the Aug. 28 Eggs & Enterprise Breakfast.

Cathy, who has been in the news quite a bit lately for comments made about gay marriage, told the chamber he had a scheduling conflict arise that make it impossible for him to be in Alpharetta that morning.

Beach announced Wednesday that Falcons Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President Jim Smith will talk about the upcoming season, the Falcons league-leading marketing program, and the community activities underway. Those activities include Dazzle and Dine, which honors women currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer as well as breast cancer survivors for their continued effort in fighting against breast cancer.

But there's more reason to attend the breakfast meeting than just hearing about the Falcons. It's also time to announce the 2012 Small Business Person of the Year.

The chamber announced the 2012 Business Persons of Excellence. On Aug. 28, it will be recognize the accomplishments of these entrepreneurs and small business owners.
