New Year's Eve Planner

If you want to go out of the house on the last day of the year, check out these event's in and around Decatur and Avondale Estates.

Here is a sampling of New Year's Eve events around Decatur and Avondale Estates.

New Year's Eve at No. 246. Special four-course meal for $55 per person at the restaurant in the heart of Decatur. Make reservations online. The restaurant is closed New Year's Day.

Michelle Malone at Eddie's Attic. The award-winning singer/songwriter plays two shows, 7 and 9:30 p.m. at Eddie's Attic. Special guest Gareth Asher will perform. Tickets are $20 online, $22 at the door.

Early New Year's Eve Magic and Improv. This family-friendly show starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Academy Theatre, magician David Howell opens for Tiger Peach Improv who will present "It's a Blunderful Life" in which the audience decides what happens to George Bailey. Tickets are $13 online.

Cruis-o-Matic at Big Tex Cantina. The band plays dance songs from the Sixties at this bar/restaurant off West Ponce.  Show starts around 9 p.m. No cover, free parking.

Dinner and entertainment at Sprig. The restaurant on LaVista Road offers an ala carte menu as well as a four-course dinner paired with either beer or wine for $65. At 9 p.m., the Kerry Hill Band performs.

Red Pepper celebration. The restaurant on Briarcliff Road serves flavorful Mexican cuisine with a four-course menu for $30 per person plus tax and gratuity. Critty Upchurch & Friends perform.
