April Opening Possible for Dantanna’s Sandy Springs

The owners plan to meet with the city Design Review Board, next week. The upscale sports bar and restaurant will be located at 6649 Roswell Road at Abernathy, in the former Applebee’s space.

Dantanna’s could open its Sandy Springs location in April, if all goes well, said co-owner Jay Kazlow.

The owners plan to meet with the city Design Review Board, next week, he said.

The upscale sports bar and restaurant will be located at 6649 Roswell Road at Abernathy, in the former Applebee’s space. Applebee’s closed that location at the end of November.

“It’s been a long time coming,” said Kazlow. “We’ve wanted to do a tavern type concept similar to what we have now but smaller in general size. Everything has been inside the perimeter. We’ve been looking to move out into the suburbs.”

There is a Dantanna’s restaurant at the Around Lenox Shopping Center in Buckhead, and the CNN Center downtown. Kazlow said the Sandy Springs location had what they were looking for in population and median income, and when the space became available they grabbed it. A lot of changes will be made to the interior and exterior, he added.

How excited are you about Dantanna’s opening a location in Sandy Springs?  Tell us in the comments below.

Isn't there already an "upscale" sports bar in Sandy Springs called Hudson Grille? I'm suprised another one is opening in such close proximity. I've been to Dantana's at CNN and hope the prices in Sandy Springs are better than they are in downtown!

Yay! I can't say I was sad to see the Applebees go. Nice, new restaurants are always welcomed!

What a big welcome this will be. I may not step another foot in the Hudson Grille in Sandy Springs again. The service there, from staff to management, is abysmal. And the food, in many cases, is worse than Taco Mac. It will be Taco Mac or Dantanna's for Sports starting in April.
