Parents, Their Children and Entrepreneurship part 2

The value of teaching entrepreneurship starting at any age. Parents worried about the quality of education in the Atlanta area can feel good.

This paper is being generated as a result of inquiries by parents regarding the
subject of teaching children about business. The following are examples of
businesses for children and teens. For the full context of the speech which
generated these pages, please refer to the web site:

  • To
enjoy my children and give them the opportunity to love me. Relationships thrive when we spend time working together on common goals.

  • To
give my children the chance to be entrepreneurs. Regardless of the quality of education a person gets, the ability to think, reason and get along with people is essential to making a living.

  • To
give my children the life skills to be able to survive economically no matter
what the world is like when they are grown.

How can parents
assume the role of chief child influencer (CCI) in their child’s life? How can
mom and dad open the lines of communication again if they are closed? How can
parents create a family that loves to work together? Start a small business with your child. Let the child have maximum input into the business to start.

Two bits of
good news for the parent who wants to be “numero uno” in their child’s life:

  1. Your child wants you to be leader of
the family. You can win every contest with the best teachers and the best of
friends. Your child feels your love and no other person can replace the love of
    a parent.
  2. It is never too late to begin. Older
children will respond with joyful energy at your desire to work with them and
encourage them to start a business. Younger children will consider you their
very best teacher in the whole world.

Summer is a great time to start a business. If your child is very young or an out of work teen, there are many options for you to consider. Please research and share your ideas with me. It takes a villiage and I want to be part of making a positive difference in the life of your child.

How to begin?

Begin by letting the child make the decisions. As CCI, Chief Child Influencer, your role is to provide options and help guide. The CEO should be the student.

I will help you more next week but get started now. The student can use the summertime to get the research out of the way. Let the student begin small. It is very important that the student be allowed to succeed or fail. Expect failure. More is learned by failure and the CCI will help analyze and encourage that another business be started with information learned from failure.

Most important, enjoy the experience and have fun. Learn and adapt. Invest in your child's business to the extent that the student can justify the investment.

Blessings will follow the parent/leader who encourages real life experiences like making money.

Until next week
