CAC Rolls Out Its Programs to Help the Needy over the Holidays

The Community Assistance Center is continuing its local programs to help the disadvanatged for the holidays - local residents can donate with holiday meals and gifts.

The first program is the holiday food program. A holiday food donation can give a local family – the assistance center serves Dunwoody and Sandy Springs – with an extra bit of help.

You can choose to donate grocery store gift card, a holiday food box or general holiday food items to the pantry. You can find food needed for the pantry here.

The program by the CAC asks for residents to give grocery store cards in $10 denominations.

You can help a family for the Christmas season through the CAC. There is a list of families on the website to choose from and the process can be done online. Limits are $50 per child, donors can choose from gift wish lists and the donations are collected by Dec. 14.

Both of the programs are made possible by the community; 100 percent of the donations are contributed by families in Sandy Springs and Dunwoody.

Last year, holiday food boxes were collected for 500 families and 800 children were given holiday gifts through the Adopt-A-Family program.
