Riverwood Names Assistant Principal
Thomas Garrett has a worked as a teacher and counselor in Sandy Springs schools.

Thomas Garrett has been named assistant principal at Riverwood International Charter School.
An annoucement said Garrett worked with the Riverwood cluster as a counselor and Response To Intervention (RTI) coordinator at Lake Forest Elementary and as a teacher at Heards Ferry Elementary schools. He also has experience at Dunwoody Springs Elementary, Lilburn Middle, and Kirby Middle schools.

“He knows the community, has developed programs and procedures that have helped at-risk students achieve success, and he has worked to streamline and improve the RTI process at Lake Forest, " said principal Dr. Robert Shaw, in a statement. "Most importantly, and what you will learn very quickly, is that he cares about people, is conscientious, and has a very strong work ethic.”
Garrett completes the 2013-2014 administrative team consisting of Principal Dr. Robert Shaw, fellow Assistant Principals Charles Amica, Opie Blackwell, Jillian (Harris) Johnson and Assistant Administrators Mike Santoro, Jeremy Kopkas and Kendra Hanson.
