Patch reported on Election Day that District 6 voters at the Church of Atonement precinct were given District 5 ballots, and basically discovered that they could either vote for a District 5 candidate or not vote at all.

The problem was cleared up later in the afternoon, according to Fulton County Elections Chief Dwight Brower.

With a run-off, and close margin between second place - Stoj and third place - Berokivtz, the question is, how many votes were cast in the wrong district?

Berkovitz did not say how hard she plans to push for answers given that the error may cost her a place in the run-off.  “As of now, no options are off the table,” she said. “I want to do what’s right for our neighborhood, my supporters and all of our voters.”

Berkovitz added that she filed an open records request with Fulton County, and is pursing an inquiry with the Georgia Secretary of State’s office.

“To what end, I’m not sure but I do feel if we are going to say that every vote counts in America, we have to make sure that voters are allowed to vote in a way that counts, at [SS13B, Church of the Atonement precinct] that did not happen,” she said.
