Storytime on the River: Why the Opossum's Tail is Bare
Ranger Larisa and volunteer Penny will lead children in a high-energy performance (complete with musical instruments, costumes and props) of the Cherokee legend Why the Opossum's Tail is Bare.
After the story, Ranger Larisa will lead a one-hour walk along the river trail to a natural rock shelter.
While the first half of the program will be indoors, participants will still need comfortable outdoor clothes and sturdy shoes for the walk. Bring a day pack including a bottle of water.
