One of the more popular classes we offer is the .  The class is specifically designed for ladies from age 13 and older. It is held one Thursday a month from 6-8 p.m. at the SSPD. The class is limited to 20 participants and there is a short waiting list. [See the attached flyer.]

The first part of class is a presentation on crime that gets your attention and puts you in the correct mindset. The rest of the class teaches you the physical responses needed to protect yourself and to give you the confidence to know you can survive and get away in case of an attack.

Finally, our newest class is the Children’s Safety Class. This class is held one Thursday per month from 6-8 p.m. at SSPD headquarters. The class is designed for 8 to 12-year-olds and requires a parent or legal guardian be present. The class specifically educates the children and parents on anti-child abduction and anti-bullying.

Due to the overwhelming response for the Children’s Safety Class, we are currently signing up only Sandy Springs residents.

All of these classes are taught by Sandy Spring Police Officer’s with many years of experience. They have backgrounds in Defensive Tactics and Firearms Training.
