Update: 3 Dead, Possible Murder-Suicide in Sandy Springs

Three people were found dead inside a home at 52 Brandon Ridge Drive near Brandon Mill and Abernathy Roads, just before 4 p.m., Wednesday.

Sandy Springs Police say it may be a murder-suicide.

The victims are Edith Renner, age 89 of Brandon Ridge; daughter Suzanne Renner, 49, who lived at the same address, and son Charles Renner, 45, of Thousands Oaks Place in Kennesaw.

Sandy Springs Police spokesperson Steve Rose said a co-worker of Charles Renner was concerned earlier Wednesday when Renner did not show-up for a morning work meeting. He contacted Renner's wife who told him that Renner often checks on his mother in Sandy Springs.

The co-worker decided to go to the mother’s home and saw the three victims through the window. 

“The mother and sister were in a chair,” Rose said. “We’re treating it as an active crime scene.”

Neighbors are saying there was another recent death in the family, Rose said.

Police have not concluded that the incident is a murder-suicide.
