Update: Elderly Woman Killed in Hit and Run Near Huntcliff

Sandy Springs Police are looking for a dark colored SUV with a white female front seat passenger that struck and killed a pedestrian about 8:11 p.m Tuesday evening on Roswell Road.

 

 A 67-year-old female pedestrian was fatally injured, Tuesday evening, when an SUV struck her on Roswell Road, near Hightower Trail. She was taken to North Fulton Hospital where she died from severe head injuries.

WSB-TV identified the victim as Lanzhen Pan, a Chinese emigrant living in a nearby building for senior citizens.

Community Assistance Center executive director, Tamara Carrera told the news station, that Pan and her husband were learning English at the Center. Carrera believes Pan was on her way to class when she was struck.

The incident occurred about 8:11 p.m., Tuesday. Capt. Steve Rose said the vehicle stopped momentarily after it struck Pan and sped into the dark streets towards the Cherokee Town and Country Club and the Huntcliff residential community. Rose said investigators are hoping residents may have information on the vehicle.
