Funeral Services Held For Teen Found Dead Near Middle School on New Year's

Nearby Sandy Springs: The body of Cody Bohnet, 18, was discovered face down in the creek, trapped under a log.

The Johns Creek teenager whose body was found New Year's Day behind Taylor Middle School has been identified.

The body of Cody Bohnet, 18, a former Chattahoochee High School student, was found last Wednesday afternoon by a couple walking their dog near a creek about a quarter mile from the school. He was discovered face down in the creek, trapped under a log.

A memorial service was held Sunday at Johns Creek United Methodist Church.

The Fulton County medical examiner confirmed that an autopsy had been preformed. The medical examiner said the cause of death will be determined after the results of a toxicology and histology test are complete.

The Johns Creek Police are continuing their investigation into Bohnet's death. "We have no idea at this point how he ended up in the water," said JCPD spokesperson Doug Nurse. "We're still conducting the investigation."
