Update: Grand Jury Returns Indictment Against Husband in Wife's Shooting

Attorney Adina Parson suffered eight gunshot wounds, three in the head, in the late night hours of April 20, outside her Sandy Springs apartment.

 

A Fulton County Grand Jury returned an indictment, Friday afternoon, against 43-year-old Michael Darnell Parson in the shootng of his wife, Adina Parson on April 20.

An annoucement said, Michael Parson was indicted charges of Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder, Aggravated Battery (two counts) and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony for allegedly shooting and critically injuring his wife.

, three in the head, in the late night hours of April 20, outside her apartment at Residences of Morgan Falls off Roswell Road. Residents reported to 911 operators hearing gunshots and a woman scream. Paramedics discovered her lying on the ground in the breezeway of her apartment building. Mrs. Parson remained hospitalized for several weeks in intensive care while police searched for a suspect.

Police detectives eventually linked Michael Parson to the crime. He was arrested May 6, 2012 during a traffic stop in El Paso, Texas and later extradited to Fulton County where he remains jailed without bond.

Following Friday's indictment, the case will be assigned to a Fulton County Superior Court Judge and scheduled for trial, the statement said.
