Drug Arrests: Police Find Meth, Cash During Traffic Stop on Northridge Road

Sandy Springs police became suspicious after they stopped Anthony Carreno-Flores and Jorge Vazquez-Ortiz at Northridge Road and Ga. 400. A canine was walked around the vehicle and alerted on the driver side door.

Sandy Springs Police arrested two men, last week, when a search of a car during a traffic stop uncovered methamphetamine and a wad of cash.

On Jan. 8, police became suspicious after they stopped Anthony Carreno-Flores and Jorge Vazquez-Ortiz at Northridge Road and Ga. 400. A canine was walked around the vehicle and alerted on the driver side door, the police report said. Inside, 1,121 grams of methamphetamine was found under the passenger seat and in the driver door pocket. 

Vazquez-Ortiz, the passenger, was carrying $2,560.

The police report said the two were arrested without incident, and the money was to processed for state seizure. 

Jorge Vazquez-Ortiz, 27, was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine and obstruction of law enforcement. Information on Carreno-Flores, 21, was not available.
