Passersby Find Bloodied Body in Car at Busy Shopping Center

Sandy Springs police found what looked like dried blood on the man's face and a handgun in his right hand in the parking lot at Perimeter Pointe shopping center.

Police found a man dead of an apparent suicide in his black Mercedes, Tuesday morning, at Perimeter Pointe shopping center.

The man had parked his car near the movie theater and Atlanta Bread Company.  According to the police report, a concerned passerby saw the body in the car and flagged down a woman, who asked a man in a car nearby to check inside the Mercedes. He called 911 and flagged down a police officer.

The officer saw what looked like dried blood on the man’s face and a handgun in his right hand, the police report said.

The suicide victim was a Sandy Springs resident. He left a note apologizing for choosing a public place, police said. He wanted to make sure someone would go to his home to get his dog.
