Police Arrest Jewish Man Accused of Threatening Synagogue Members
Charles B. Cortell was arrested late Friday morning during a traffic stop in Sandy Springs.
The man wanted by Sandy Springs police for allegedly harassing members of a local synagogue was arrested late Friday morning.
Officers with the agency received a tip that Charles B. Cortell, 47, was frequenting the Windsor Parkway area on the south side of the city.
The suspect's vehicle as spotted, and officers conducted a traffic stop on May 30. Cortell was taken into custody without incident, and has been charged with three counts of disorderly conduct.
Cortell, who is also Jewish, is accused of harassing members of the Congregation Beth Tefillah on High Point Road through phone calls, voice mails, email and text messages.
Cortell is now housed at the Fulton County Jail's Alpharetta annex.
