Police Looking for Gunman in Saturday Evening Shooting

About eight Sandy Springs Police cars were called to Northridge Colonade shopping strip at 350 Northridge, following the 6 p.m. shooting.

 

No arrests have been made in the Saturday evening shooting of a man outside Dessiah’s Hair Studio on Northridge Road.

About eight police cars were called to Northridge Colonade shopping strip at 350 Northridge, following the 6 p.m. shooting. Yasir Owens was shot four times, twice in the leg, once in the left arm just above his wrist and once in the lower abdomen. The injuries were non-life threatening, police said.

Owens said, at some point he was standing outside the shop on the balcomy, which faces Northridge, smoking when he was approached by a black male who asked for a cigarette. He told the man he did not have one and in return, the man shot him.

Police were told an argument between the victim and another took place inside Dessiah’s before the shooting. They appeared to know each other. The barber shop owner told the two to take it outside. Minutes later Owens was shot.
