Police: Triple Shootings Were Likely a Murder-Suicide

Sandy Springs Police are awaiting the medical examiner's report on the shooting deaths of a elderly mother and her two adult children on Wednesday.

Police found a pistol near the body of Charles Renner IV and believe the shooting deaths of Renner, his mother Edith Renner, age 89, and sister Suzanne Renner, 49 was a murder-suicide.

They were found dead inside a home at 52 Brandon Ridge Drive near Brandon Mill and Abernathy Roads, on Wednesday afternoon. All three were shot in the head, said Sandy Springs Police spokesman Steve Rose.

Rose said a co-worker of Charles Renner was concerned earlier Wednesday when Renner did not show-up for a morning work meeting. He contacted Renner's wife who told him that Renner would often check on his mother in Sandy Springs.

The co-worker decided to go to the mother’s home and saw the three victims through the window.

“The mother and sister were in a chair,” Rose said.
