Sandy Springs Man Arrested for Threatening Women Trying to Help Dog

53-year-old Richard Booher was arrested and charged with making terroristic threats and disorderly conduct.

A Sandy Springs man was arrested and charged with making terroristic threats after he threatened to kill two females at the Towne Lake Kroger, in Woodstock, because they attempted to give water to his dog.

On Tuesday, a Sandy Springs Police officer recognized Richard Booher during a traffic stop at Glenridge Pkwy and Abernathy Road. Booher, 53, was taken into custody and has since been released from the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center.

The female victims called the Woodstock police on June 20, to report a man, now identified as Booher, threatening them and using vulgar language as they were attempting to give water to a distressed dog locked inside a car, said Brittany Duncan of the Woodstock Police Department.
