Sandy Springs Police Seek Man After Shooting at Hammond Park

The gunman fled west on Glenridge towards I-285 in a black Ford Explorer.

 

Sandy Springs Police are searching for a man who fired a shot following a basketball game at Hammond Park, Monday afternoon.

Sandy Springs Police Capt. Steve Rose said the shooter, a black male wearing dreadlocks and basketball shorts, fled onto Glenridge Drive towards I-285 in a black Ford Explorer.

The victim was not hit by gunfire. He and witnesses initially told police they do not know the shooter’s name. The shooter followed the victim into the parking lot following a basketball game, Rose said.  “An argument started…[The gunman] went to his car and pulled a weapon. He took one shot and got in his car and left,” Rose said.
