Sandy Springs Teen Hit by Car Likely to Recover

The 16-year-old was struck by a part of the vehicle that connects to the side of the windshield, and didn't take a direct impact to the midsize car, said Sandy Springs Police Capt. Steve Rose.

 

The Fulton Science Academy student who was hit by a car while crossing the street on Friday did not suffer serious head injuries, according to Sandy Springs Police Capt. Steve Rose.

Rose said the 16-year-old was struck by a part of the vehicle that connects to the side of the windshield, and didn’t take a direct impact to the midsize car.

The teen was walking in the crosswalk on Roswell Road at Dalrymple, about 5 p.m., when the accident occurred. The driver, who was heading south on Roswell Road, remained at the scene and cooperated with police.

The teen was taken to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite.
