Police chase: A report from Capt. Steve Rose said a man told police that his wallet, a computer bag and laptop were stolen from his car on Windsor Gate Cove, on Feb. 10.

Just before 4 a.m., police received a call of a suspicious person on Telford Place. The resident there saw a car pull up into a driveway, stop, and park. A man came out of the dark and ran to the car, got in, and the car left.

Officers checked the area and about 20 minutes later, found a car matching the description on West Kingston Drive. The car was speeding and the officer lost sight of it. Shortly after, the same officer saw a car matching the description on Peachtree Dunwoody Road. The car’s headlights were not on.

When the officer turned on his blue lights, the car turned onto Balmoral Road where it stopped and a man exited and ran. The officer requested help and remained with the car and found the victim’s wallet. The owner of the wallet was visiting nearby and told the officers that someone smashed and grabbed it from his car on Windsor Gate Cove.

“Seven,” the K-9 bloodhound, was called in and located a trail on the suspect. At about 6:20 a.m., the suspect was flushed and took off running. He was nabbed and taken into custody.
