Caris Ayala was last seen in a black Toyota T-100 with a Georgia tag BKM9384, according to Sandy Springs Police Capt. Steve Rose.
She is wanted for Felony Murder of a five-month-old boy.
Ayala was the infant's babysitter. She and her husband Noe Castillo-Ramirez fled before a second police interview. They are traveling with their seven-month-old child. Police believe Ayala has left the country or is attempting to leave.
On Oct. 5th, a Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta social worker notified police when the five-month-old boy was brought in by ambulance. He was non-responsive with critical head injuries.
“He was severely injured either by being shook or severe whiplash,” Rose said. “Something made the child’s brain so injured it caused death.”
Police interviewed Ayala and the infant’s parents. Ayala’s attorney later contacted police saying he would bring her in, instead Ayala fled. Authorities believe she may be in Mexico.
Ayala told police she is from both El Salvador and Guatamala. She lived at The Mosaic of Sandy Springs apartments on Roswell Road.
In addition to the Felony Murder charge against Caris Ayala, Noe Castillo-Ramirez is wanted for Hindering the Apprehension of a Felon.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Caris Ayala is urged to contact SSPD Detective Sandy Rose at 770-551-3313 or Detective Mike Bailey at 770-551-3308.
