Another Person Announces run for District 6 Council Seat

Sonja Tonpea, a longtime Sandy Springs resident, made the announcement on Friday night,

Sandy Springs Rotarian Sonja Tonpea announced plans to run for the District 6 City Council seat.

Tonpea, a longtime Sandy Springs resident, made the announcement on Friday night, during a movie premier for her documentary Westfield’ Struggles to Success, at Morehouse School of Medicine. 

Since City Councilwoman Karen Meinzen McEnerny said that she will not run for re-election, Sandy Springs environmental advocate Patty Berkovitz and Attorney and businessman Andy Bauman have both said they plan to run the for the District 6 seat

All six City Council seats and up  for election in November. Qualifying for all candidates is Aug. 26-30.
