Tomorrow also marks the end of the first stage of our campaign to provide experienced leadership when we finally have a seat at the table in the State Senate. In the primary, each candidate has offered ideas and what he brings to the State Senate, and each of us would be an improvement over the incumbent.

Given the challenges we face -- a down budget, stalled economic growth, attempts for an unsustainable expansion of Medicaid, and a continued need for improved schools -- we do not have time for on-the-job training at the General Assembly.

Based on my experience in business and my leadership at the State Capitol, I hope I've convinced you that I am the most prepared to begin on day one of the next legislative session.  I know the issues, and have even been deemed an expert my the Atlanta Business Chronicle and others on the ballot.  I've learned the process, tackled the issues, and earned the trust of the members of the General Assembly that the next State Senator from the 6th District will need to:

  • Actually say "no" to Obamacare and keep Georgia's spending per capita the lowest in the nation;
  • Keep and bring jobs to Georgia by keeping the small business tax credit and further reforming our tax code to reduce income taxes without increasing sales taxes;
  • Reduce burdensome regulations by sunsetting them every six years;
  • Improve our schools by empowering parents and educators; and
  • Increase your confidence in our elected officials by enacting strong ethics reform that includes, but goes beyond, saying "no" to gifts over $100 from lobbyists.

The process of having a seat at the table in the State Senate begins tomorrow. Let's get to work together.

Thank you for the privilege of allowing me to place my name before you to be your next State Senator. I hope to earn your vote, and Karina and I could not be more grateful for your prayers, support, votes, and even consideration. We invite you to join us on election night, and thank you for your continued support.
