Cost of Special Election for Sunday Alcohol Sales Becoming Hot Topic

Sandy Springs City Council member Gabriel Sterling told GPB's Edgar Treiguts that he's open to a special election if there is a positive cash flow return.

During an interview with GPB's Edgar Treiguts on the cost of a special election for Sunday alcohol sales, Sandy Springs City Council member Gabriel Sterling said he’s open to an election if it nets a positive cash flow return.

The last general citywide election cost about $250,000. And DeJulio estimated the cost of the special election that elected Sterling to be $30,000.

"And that’s just for one district,” said DeJulio, in February. “If we were to have a special election for the whole city [for Sunday alcohol sales], we’re talking about a pretty expensive process.”
